Description:

Content area 1: Money and transactions
This content area covers knowledge, skills and attitudes related to different forms of money and currencies, income and prices, payments and purchases, and the importance of financial records and contracts.
The main objective of this content area is to establish and identify the skills needed to understand the different characteristics of money, how to obtain it as income, how to exchange it for goods and services and the importance of keeping track of and having records of how it is obtained and exchanged.

Content area 2: Planning and managing finances
This content area covers knowledge, skills and attitudes related to budgeting; income and expense management; saving; investing; long-term planning; retirement; credit; debt and debt management. The main objective of this content area is to establish skills to manage the financial situation of an individual or household in the short and long term. This includes not only managing income and expenses on a day-to-day basis, but also planning; it covers skills related to both savings and investments, and credit and debt management.

Content area 3: Risk and reward
This content area covers knowledge, skills and attitudes related to risk identification, financial safety nets, insurance and the balance between risk and reward.
The aim of this content area is to cover skills related to assessing risks, understanding how to mitigate them with insurance and financial safety nets, and comprehending the trade-offs laying under risk taking.

Content area 4: Financial landscape
This content area covers knowledge, skills and attitudes related to consumer regulation and protection; consumer rights and responsibilities; the use of financial education, financial information and financial advice; financial products and services; fraud and deception (scams); understanding taxes and public spending; external influences on financial decisions.
This content area covers the characteristics and aspects of the financial world.
